Volunteering at Cottonwood Canyon

Interested in volunteering at Cottonwood Canyon? This is the page for you! Since its inception, Cottonwood Canyon has pride itself on being a welcoming place for everyone. We want YOU to get involved and help us to be the best park in Oregon!

Volunteer opportunities vary from multiple months to single/part day commitments and are available year-round.

The most popular volunteer option is through the Oregon State Parks Camp Host program. Camp Hosts at Cottonwood Canyon help in the day to day operations of the park. Our hosts are regularly out and about talking with visitors, helping to maintain park facilities, selling firewood, and giving impromptu interpretive talks.

At Cottonwood we have 3 full-hookup RV spaces with wi-fi and laundry services for our camp hosts. These positions require a 1-3 month commitment and are recruited for year round. Questions about the park? Give us a call at (541) 739-2322.

Additional information about becoming a camp host for Oregon State Parks and to apply, visit oregonstateparks.org.

Another popular option is volunteering through a partner. Many groups and organizations volunteer on a regular basis at Cottonwood Canyon State Park.

Past groups have tackled projects large and small. Some past and ongoing projects have included planting flowers in our day use area, trail maintenance and construction, stream restoration, wildlife monitoring, litter pickup and more!

Interested in a volunteer opportunity for your group, organization or business? Send us an email or give us a call at (541)739-2322.

Individual volunteers are welcome as well. From a few hours to a few days, all are welcome to volunteer at the park. For more information, visit the volunteering page at oregonstateparks.org.

Volunteering does not take a large group or a big commitment. Do you have an idea for a way to improve the park? Have a desire to see change in the world? Be that change! Get involved today!
